A typical Canton, Michigan
brick fireplace. Painted brick. The brick
was painted as an attempt to remodel the fireplace.
This is one of the extensive fireplace remodels.
We stripped the brick off the wall exposing the fire box. Then following guide lines set forth by building
codes, we remodeled this fireplace.
This fireplace surround is made from solid oak that was reclaimed. And as always
built on site. The reclaimed Oak used on this fireplace
came from the Ford Rouge plant. Years ago the power plant blew up. This Oak is from the original cat walks that were in the
power plant. It is very possible that Henry Ford,Thomas Edison, and Harvey Firestone walked these Oak cat walk planks.
Fireplace is ducted into the house heating system.
